Reconciliation Action Plan

Balarinji designed a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for financial services organisation ING Australia based on a bespoke artwork by Aboriginal artist Kaylee Shields.

ING Australia’s inaugural Reflect RAP marks a significant commitment to reconciliation and cultural inclusion within the financial services sector. Developed through extensive internal collaboration, the RAP sets the foundation for long-term partnerships, cultural understanding, and social and economic opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Central to the RAP is a bespoke artwork created by Darkinjung and Darug artist Kyralee Shields. The piece captures ING’s reconciliation vision through interlinked circles representing the ING community, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and the space where they come together. Symbolism such as kangaroo tracks, water pathways, and southern stars reflect ING’s connection to Country and its role in supporting customers and communities.

As part of the engagement, Balarinji also developed a visual identity for the RAP, including a style guide and a suite of digital collateral templates. These assets extended the artwork into everyday use across the business, providing designs for email signatures, invitations, internal communications, and social media templates.
